A week ago I speculated that by 2017 there will be a stack of books, some of them written by senior White House staff members (okay, well, about the President’s psychological issues) but I hadn’t considered the Benghazi secrets that’ll eventually come out.
When the multi-million dollar deals are signed, the books are written, the competing autobiographical score-settling hardbacks hit the bookstores, the NYT and Washington Post serialize the relevant passages, then will we finally be able to fill in the blanks? Maybe Jonah Goldberg is onto something.
Back in May, 2013, The Weekly Standard reported on the defensive spin and stonewalling about those missing hours:
Asked about whether the president entered the Situation Room, Pfeiffer says, “I don’t remember what room the president was in on that night, and that’s a largely irrelevant fact.”
Pfeiffer then argues that Wallace’s questions about the president’s handling of the Benghazi terror attack are “offensive.”
