United States One Of Only Two Developed Countries With Birthright Citizenship
Posted: August 20, 2015 Filed under: Mediasphere 1 CommentWhile Democrats are busy railing against Republicans for using words that aren’t officially approved by the DNC to describe their stances on immigration, the rest of the country is talking about and reexamining what aspects of our immigration system are practical.
The conversation over the last few days has revolved around the term “anchor baby” and whether or not it makes sense to allow immigrants to illegally enter the country, have children, and then grant American citizenship to that child. Democrats would have the country believe that opposing birthright citizenship is a radical position but in reality, the opposite is true.
The United States is one of only two developed countries on the planet that employs such a rule. Many on the left enjoy raving about how great Europe is and if we could only adopt some of their policies. Not one European country automatically awards citizenship to children of non-citizens.
