John Bolton: Obama’s Shameful Apology Tour Lands in Hiroshima

Narcissist-in-Chief Honors Himself in Hiroshima, Japan

boltonJohn Bolton writes: An American president’s highest moral, constitutional and political duty is protecting his fellow citizens from foreign threats. Presidents should adhere to our values and the Constitution, and not treat America’s enemies as morally equivalent to us.

If they do, they need not apologize to anyone.

The White House says that President Obama won’t apologize as he visits Hiroshima Friday. But who believes his press flacks?

“Obama’s narcissism, his zeal for photo opportunities with him at the center, whether in Havana or Hiroshima, too often overcomes lesser concerns — like the best interests of the country.”

His penchant for apologizing is central to his legacy. He may not often say “I apologize” explicitly, but his meaning is always clear, especially since he often bends his knee overseas, where he knows the foreign audiences will get his meaning. It is, in fact, Obama’s subtlety that makes his effort to reduce America’s influence in the world so dangerous.

He started in Cairo in 2009, referring to the “fear and anger” that the 9/11 attacks provoked in Americans, saying that, “in some cases, it led us to act contrary to our traditions and our ideals.” He later said, “Unfortunately, faced with an uncertain threat, our government made a series of hasty decisions . . . based on fear rather than foresight” — a characterization Americans overwhelmingly reject.

In Europe, saved three times by America in the last century, Obama apologized because “there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.” And in this hemisphere, Obama said, “We have at times been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms,” culminating in his recent fawning visits with the Castros in Cuba.

The list goes on and on.

Then there’s his penchant for bowing to foreign leaders. He has bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia. He bowed to the emperor of Japan on a previous visit. He has bowed to China’s leader, Xi Jinping. And these are not casual nods of the head, but unmistakable gestures of obeisance.

For those who may wonder, the diplomatic protocol on bowing is clear: Heads of state don’t bow to other heads of state, monarchs or otherwise. Period. And Americans don’t bow to anyone. We fought a revolution to establish that point.

Obama’s apologies and gestures prove yet again, in his words, that he isn’t like those other presidents on our currency. And Friday, in Hiroshima, Obama may prove conclusively that, on national security, he’s no Franklin Roosevelt or Harry Truman….(read more)

Yes, another day, Another living proof that I was right. Anyone who hates Barack Obama IS, in fact, a racist, bigoted, black-hating scumbag! No doubt about that. It sucks that today’s racists, bigots, black-hating extremists falsely call themselves “Patriots” when they are anything but!

Um, this is a deliberate distortion of his words. He said THE WAR came out of our worst instincts. He was talking about Japan and Nazi Germany.

What a load of twisted Obama-hating lying nonsense, just read the speech. It decries resort to war itself, the “nationalist fervor or religious zeal” was one of several reasons he cited for war throughout history and how civilization must strive to resolve differences peacefully rather than by war, it did not address use of the bomb itself or World War II at all, but then again, I’m not a racist that hates the black man in office.

Can you not actually read? Or hear? He said the War, the World War rose out of humanity’s basest instincts, nationalist fervor, the need for domination. That was a reference to Japan starting the War. The War that ended in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Geez.

Yes, Japanese started the war, but they didn’t bomb civilian populations. Re. the surrender, the discussions were already at the tail end and it was only a matter of time before that happened. Dropping the bomb was indeed a terrible instinct, driven by the ego to show off its power to the world. Secondly who cared about the yellow people? If German was in Japan’s place, in no way US would have nuked Germany.

No, the president does not deserve censure for stating truth, for respecting the memory of the people of our nation who fought and died in the war and upon whose shoulders was thrust the awesome responsibility to make the decision to create and use such an awesome and terrible weapon, and for comforting not our wartime enemy but our peace friend and ally, Japan, as they grieve the loss of civilians, family members and ancestors. All lost in the war, victor and vanquished alike. In that there is a measure of moral equivalence and mutual responsibility to come together, to remember, and to work together to not repeat the errors of our fore fathers and to build upon their successes.

It’s obvious, it’s racism and bigotry, pure and simple!

Have the rest of you forgotten what Bush and his buddies did to America, how many young men were killed and injured, not to speak of the economical disaster. Is your memory that short. Well i will forgive you for your ignorance this once, but please get your heads out of the sand. You must really hate Eisenhower for calling the Military Industrial Establishment the greatest threat to America, and he was a War Hero, and a Republican..You must also hate Reagan who dedicated his Presidency to abolishing Nukes from the face of the earth…..Wait, why do I keep forgetting, they were white Americans, so it was okay, but when a black American President does it, he’s a traitor?

It’s obvious, it’s racism and bigotry, pure and simple! Your father would have been ashamed of you for lying about the current President of the United States. There was no apology, and THERE NEVER WAS! that’s why you don’t quote anything from the speech. Evidently, honor and honesty were traits not passed on to you.

Some educated types may want examples of treason and impeachable offenses, but you aren’t educated types. . Also if you look at his track record compared to other Presidents, then you can see that Obama is actual not the worst President we ever had. I believe Andrew Jackson and GW Bush Jr. Take the two worst President slots.

I hope you drop dead, Mr. Sanctimonious, holier than thou, author of this comment. If you want to see something truly repulsive, take a look in the mirror. I think you can’t stand the fact that a BLACK MAN was ELECTED PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES and has more brains in his left pinky than you will ever have, while you have to scrub toilets and write hateful drivel like this. You should be ashamed of yourself.

    • The Butcher says:

A crazed, bigoted, hate-spewing unhinged left-wing zealot has an emotional meltdown in our comments section, in which he accuses former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton of being a “racist”. Then proclaims his wish that John Bolton immediately die. Wow. Not quite a death threat, but about as close as you can get, without arousing the FBI’s attention. Looks like someone is very upset!

A very intimate look inside the mind of a man in the middle of a fit of homicidal racial hysteria. Some on the left can’t see anything but race. Everything is about race. Not about ideas, or leadership, or reality. It’s All. About. Race. What a sad way to see the world.

In this view, all critics of our current president have one thing in common: they don’t have legitimate point of view. They don’t have legitimate criticism. They don’t have a legitimate voice. Anyone who disagrees with Barack Obama, apparently, can only be motivated by racial animosity.

But so upset is this commenter, that he doesn’t even realize, he’s writing his complaints at the wrong place, to the wrong person. The author of the article, John Bolton, isn’t exactly a staff writer at punditfromanotherplanet. You know what I’m sayin’? Oops! Perhaps he can take his complaints to the author, John Bolton? And try his “I want you to drop dead” speech where John Bolton can actually read it? Then wait for a knock on the door from a law enforcement official.

The most predictable, ignorant, pathetic reflex the president’s defenders have, when confronted by facts and opinions that make them uncomfortable, is to jump up and down and yell “racist racist racist!”. Then, if they’re really upset, make thinly-veiled death threats.

Barack Obama himself would be embarrassed, if he had to read crazed nonsense like this.

Reminds me of the famous joke:

What’s the definition of a racist? A conservative who’s winning the argument.
