Japan: Nazi-Like Costumes Cause Backlash

The U.S.-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, which monitors anti-Semitism movements, issued a statement on Monday demanding an apology from Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc., which the group belongs to, and its producer, Yasushi Akimoto.
The center called the costumes, including black cloaks and uniform caps with eagle emblems, “inappropriate and deeply offensive.”
A statement of apology is now displayed on the girl group’s official website, vowing never to use the costumes again
