Nervous in Japan: Book Buyers Snatching up Variety of Books About Trump

Signs at Yaesu Book Center’s flagship branch in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, read, “Trump inaugurated as president” and “How will the world change?” with portraits of the former businessman displayed near the entrance of the shop.
The special section features about 20 Trump-related books, including collections of his speeches and forecasts on the impact of his presidency on the Japanese economy.
According to the bookstore, humorous books related to Trump — such as one introducing his quotes — were popular shortly after he secured the presidency in November, but recently other books on more serious themes have been selling well.
