Multiple People Trapped Beneath Scaffolding Collapse in Downtown Houston

“We are monitoring the situation very closely and working alongside authorities as we try to determine the cause of this accident. In the mean time, we are grateful to the first responders on the scene and praying that everyone is OK.”
The accident occurred just after 11am at a luxury apartment building under construction at 300 Crawford at Commerce, near Minute Maid Park.
HFD Captain Ruy Lozano says six workers have been pulled from the rubble and have been transported to area hospitals. Capt. Lozano describes the injuries as non life-threatening, but significant.

Capt. Lozano says a secondary collapse is not only possible, but highly likely. Onlookers are being moved back due to fears of further collapse.

How Much Renters Need to Make to Afford a Two-Bedroom Apartment in Each State

The Out of Reach study, which came out in May, found that there are a considerable number of states where average workers simply cannot afford to rent two-bedrooms.

- The average American needs to earn $19.35/hour to afford a two-bedroom rental unit.
- The average hourly wage earned by American renters is $15.16. That’s 2.5 times the federal minimum wage.

“Sally only needs the smallest excuse to pry into other people’s business and then it’s off to the races. It’s like, worry about your own life and let whoever was involved in that bloody shootout worry about theirs, all right?”

(CBS Houston) — A dispute between an Oklahoma couple turned violent after a woman allegedly tried to bite her boyfriend’s penis off while he slept.
A police report obtained by KRMG says Amber Ellis and her boyfriend were out drinking and got into an argument “about how needy she had become.” After the verbal fight continued in the couple’s apartment, Ellis reportedly stormed into a bedroom and slammed the door.

Seth Gottfried reports: Cops raided a Manhattan drug den Tuesday night and arrested suspected dealers who may have been the ones who sold heroin to actor Philip Seymour Hoffman, sources said.
Authorities entered the Mott Street building and at around 7:30 p.m. and nabbed four people after getting a tip that the “Capote” star was sold heroin there a couple of months ago.
