Senior television journalist Kelvin Tang King-fai, once dubbed as Hong Kong’s ‘News Prince’, fell to his death the day before Christmas.

Senior television journalist Kelvin Tang King-fai, once dubbed as Hong Kong’s “News Prince”, fell to his death the day before Christmas.
Police said officers received a report at 7.12 am on Thursday that a man had fallen from a residential building on Tai Yue Avenue in Tai Koo Shing, Quarry Bay. The man was unconscious when paramedics arrived and he was brought to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
It’s not known if he jumped.
He was identified later as Tang, 51, a senior news anchor for Digital Broadcasting Corporation.
Tang graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism in the 1980s. He joined KTSF Television in San Francisco in the United States after graduation and returned to Hong Kong in 1992 to join Asia Television. Read the rest of this entry »

Thanks to Judicial Watch obtaining new memos, Fox News is now reporting that the Obama administration knew that Benghazi was being used as a hub for the transfer of lethal weapons to Syria back in 2012. Former CIA Deputy Director Mike Morell suggested to Bret Baier that the CIA wasn’t doing the transferring, but was watching someone else do it.

French police said Friday that a gunman who had been holding at least five hostages in a kosher market in eastern Paris was dead, CBS News correspondent Elizabeth Palmer reports.
French media reported that as many as 10 people ran out of the market after explosions and gunfire were heard near the market.
Earlier, the gunman threatened to kill the hostages if police launched an assault on the cornered brothers suspected in the massacre, a police official told The Associated Press.
Less than an hour after the gunman made his threat, gunfire was heard at the location of the standoff involving the brothers around the town of Dammartin-en-Goële, about 25 miles northeast of Paris.
The police official told the AP several people had been wounded when the gunman opened fire in the market near Paris’ Porte de Vincennes Friday afternoon and were able to flee and get medical care.
Earlier, a police official told the AP that the man declared “you know who I am” when he opened fire.
An Interior Ministry spokesman told RTL-TV that police believe five individuals were taken hostage, possibly including a child. A police union source told the Reuters news organization that one person was seriously wounded.
Paris police believe the suspect is Amedy Coulibaly, 32. Police are seeking information on him and his girlfriend, Hayat Boumeddienne, 26, in connection with the deadly shooting of a police officer on Thursday morning just south of the capital in Montrouge. Both were suspected of being armed and dangerous.
French President Francois Hollande ordered the country’s top security official to the scene of the market, an official in the presidency told The Associated Press. The police official declined to be named when discussing the unfolding situation. Read the rest of this entry »

Pasco County police responded to a shooting Monday afternoon at the Grove 16 movie theater in Wesley Chapel, Fla.
A male suspect walked inside the theater at 6333 Wesley Grove Boulevard and opened fire, police said, a local television station reported.
Two victims, a man and a woman, were flown to a Tampa area hospital. Their conditions were not available.
The suspect was arrested inside the theater.

Democrats won’t be able to put up a smokescreen to hide from Obamacare’s failures, Charles Krauthammer said Thursday night.
Majority Leader Harry Reid can “argue all [he wants] that the sun rises in the West, it’s not going to work,” he said.
“People are receiving cancelations, they know they lost their insurance. There’s no way to talk around it.”
Krauthammer also attacked the administration’s attempt to sell nearly 30,000 recent enrollments on HealthCare.gov as a success.

Charles Krauthammer had harsh words Wednesday night for American foreign policy when it came to China’s establishment of a zone of control over the East China Sea.
“We had one strong response, which was to send American warplanes into that zone without obeying the Chinese demand that you check in with them”
Krauthammer said on Special Report, lauding the pair of B-52 bombers that flew through the airspace. However, he lamented that the U.S. has ordered its civilian airlines to comply with the Chinese rules even as Japan has told its airlines to ignore them.

Krauthammer predicted on Special Report that after the Supreme Court had dealt with Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby — a case which he said could go either way — cases involving explicitly Catholic organizations stood a better chance of claiming victories over President Obama’s signature healthcare law.

“He pretended to want to restore the plans to people who lost them,” Krauthammer said during a panel appearance on Special Report. “Because it is a sham. It was only intended to shift the blame. His intent is for these plans not to be renewed; he knows how impossible it will be.”
Krauthammer said that Obama knew how many insurance companies would refuse to renew canceled policies and how many state insurance commissioners would refuse the fix – ensuring that only a trickle of people re-enrolled in their old plans. However, had Obama not made that move, over 100 Democrats would’ve voted for Representative Fred Upton’s (R., Mich.) bill to extend canceled insurance policies a year.
