Senator Reid on Cattle Battle: “It’s Not Over.”  Harry, It’s Over

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) — Senate majority leader Harry Reid hasn’t been very vocal about the cattle battle showdown in recent days, but says “it’s not over.”

Harry? we talked about this. It’s over.

Reid tells News4’s Samantha Boatman his take on the so-called cattle battle in southern Las Vegas. “Well, it’s not over.

Well, yeah it is, Reid. It’s over.

“We can’t have an American people that violate the law and then just walk away from it. So it’s not over,” Reid said.

Harry, you represent a Federal government that violates the law every day, and walks away from it. You’re in the worst possible position to make statements like that anywhere near a live microphone. Sit down, shut up.

Jon David Kahn reports:  Last September in North London, a 61-year-old IT worker allegedly went looking for love in all the wrong places. So wrong in fact, that he wound up in Wood Green crown court in front of jury that reportedly was less than sympathetic to the man’s fruitless search for companionship.

You see, jurors were told the story of Paul Lovell who was spotted by a picnicking couple September 4, allegedly attempting to have intercourse with a sheep near the Tottenham Hotspur training ground in north London. The court heard powerful testimony in which witnesses placed Lovell 250 yards away from their picnic “laying on the floor, taking his shorts off,” near a line of trees before getting busy with the sheep.

U.S ‘Choice’ Beef Prices Climb to New High

The price of choice-grade U.S. beef at wholesale set a new record on Thursday as already tight supplies were further squeezed by harsh weather that reduced the number of cattle that came to market in parts of the country, analysts said.

Select beef cuts on Thursday also marked a fresh record high for a fifth straight day.

Choice beef typically has more “marbling” or fat, making it juicier and more tender than select-graded beef.

The day’s wholesale price, or cutout, for choice beef hit $212.05 per hundredweight (cwt), eclipsing the previous May, 2013 record of $211.37, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Why Cows Hate Smart Phones

cowtext

Upstate New York – A 21-year-old driver slammed into a herd of cattle crossing the road near a farm in the town of Wawayanda. Witnesses claimed the female behind the wheel was texting and driving at the time of impact but the she claims she was simply looking down to check an incoming call.

Mike Hosking, owner of the farm, said “If you don’t see 50 cows in the road, you’re doing something (you shouldn’t be doing),” according to the Times Herald-Record.

Cows Against Texting While Driving

When all was said and done, the driver struck about a half dozen cows, one of which was sent five feet in the air. She also nearly hit one of the farm hands who was signaling her to stop.  3 of the cows were seriously injured and required emergency surgery. Only two are expected to survive.

Hosking said he’ll be monitoring the injured cows closely in the days ahead.
