[VIDEO] REWIND: Cory ‘Arc Bender’ Booker in 2016: ‘Blessed, Honored’ to Work With Senator Jeff Sessions on Civil Rights

“I am humbled to be able to to participate here in paying tribute to some of the extraordinary Americans, whose footsteps paved the way for me and my generation. I feel blessed and honored to have partnered with Sen. Sessions in being the Senate sponsors of this important award.”

— Booker at the Capitol Visitor Center last year

Democratic Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.) thanked his colleague Sen. Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) last year at the Capitol for his help celebrating the 1965 “Foot Soldiers,” those who marched from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama to promote civil rights for African Americans.

The NTK Network found the video from February, which shows Booker striking a much different tone toward Sessions than his current position on the Alabama senator, whose confirmation hearing to be Donald Trump’s attorney general began on Tuesday.

Oops! Russian Hedge Fund Founder Disappears With All The Firm’s Money

B6pEFUrIUAIXm_Q

reports: The value of the ruble isn’t the only thing that is vanishing in Russia. A Moscow hedge fund chief executive has disappeared, along with all the money in the firm’s accounts.

That’s according to a stunning feature in The Wall Street Journal. Kim Karapetyan, 29, the youthful founder of Blackfield Capital CJSC, has disappeared, much to the dismay of his staff, which didn’t know until a group of men charged into the firm’s plush offices.

From The Journal:

The firm’s employees didn’t know anything was amiss until mid-October, when three men charged into Blackfield’s offices in an upscale complex along the Moscow River in central Moscow, said people who were there.

The men, who didn’t identify themselves, said they were looking for Blackfield’s 29-year-old founder, Kim Karapetyan, according to the people who were there.

But Mr. Karapetyan wasn’t in the office that day or the next, when senior executives explained to the staff of about 50 that there was no longer any money to pay their salaries, said one former senior executive and ex-employees. The executives disclosed that all the money in the company accounts — some $20 million, including investor cash — was also missing, they said. It couldn’t be determined whether investors were from Russia or other countries.

“Our CEO just … disappeared,” said Sergey Grebenkin, one of the firm’s software developers, in an interview.

No attempts to contact or find Karapetyan were successful, and he is still MIA. The company’s website brags that its “systematic investment process helps avoid human-factor, cognitive-biases, and emotional-trading errors,” but the CEO running away with all your money seems like a fairly big human error. When the news broke that Newark Mayor Cory Booker was Tweeting with a dancer at a vegan strip club in Portland, many asked, “There’s a vegan strip club??”

But Casa Diablo, the no-animal-products-allowed strip joint where Booker’s Twitter-friend works, is far from the only uniquely-themed establishment where women entertainers bare all. And that got us wondering what else is out there.

Turns out that themed or niche strip clubs are less popular than you might imagine. “Clubs like Caso Diablo are really not anything close to an industry norm,” said Dave Manack, editor in chief of Exotic Dancer Publications, an industry trade magazine for strip clubs. “The majority of clubs have their formula for success: Beautiful entertainers who are nude or topless or in bikinis are the draw. Not too many clubs feel like they need to go too far outside the box.”

But we were still able find some strip joints that stray further from the usual pole. Here’s TIME’s list of America’s 10 strangest strip clubs.

1. Climax

This now-defunct drive-thru strip club allowed customers to watch dancers strip through a window… without ever leaving the comfort of their cars. Most customers reportedly made pit stops for only two or three minutes, paying $5 per minute to the Pittsburgh-area establishment.

2. Pirate’s Cove

This Portland-based strip club is dedicated to pirate lovers looking for both types of booty. In a design choice that Jack Sparrow himself would love, the outside of the club is shaped as a large jug of rum.

3. Silver Dollar Strip Club

Around Halloween time, the Silver Dollar Strip Club in Oregon transforms into a haunted house, where patrons can wander through spooky rooms. Costumed strippers aim to frighten patrons as well as turn them on. Read the rest of this entry »

The Coming Hillarycult?

The Left may succeed in turning Clinton into a cultural icon in the Obama mold

By  Charles C. W. Cooke

Dispiriting as it is to admit for those of us who like our republics modest and our republicans unassuming, we are living through one of those bothersome periods in American history in which cults of personality are all the rage. Cory Booker’s victory on Tuesday evening was as inevitable as will be his coronation in the Senate, followed before long by the breathless and ubiquitous talk of a Booker presidency. Nevertheless, for all his supposed virtues, the celebrity mayor of Newark will have to wait his turn, for the Obamacult has a different understudy, and she is busily readying herself for a seamless takeover. I refer, of course, to Hillary Clinton.
