Michael Winter reports: A 35-year-old Georgia mother has lost custody of her five children after police say she hosted a sex party for her teenage daughter. Rachel Lehnardt is accused of joining the teens in sex, drugs and naked Twister.
A 35-year-old Georgia mother has lost custody of her five children after being arrested for allegedly hosting a party for her teenage daughter and joining in the festivities, which featured booze, pot, sex, a hot tub and naked Twister.
Rachel Lehnardt was charged with two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for the party at her home in Evans, an Augusta suburb. She was arrested Monday after her new Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor alerted the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday following a meeting with Lehnardt, who is divorcing her husband, an Iraq war veteran.
The sponsor said Lehnardt told her she had lost custody of the children — ages 4, 6, 8, 10 and 16 — at an emergency hearing April 6 after her husband learned about the party. The sheriff’s report did not indicate when it occurred.

The children were with their father one night when the 16-year-old daughter texted her mother to ask if she and some friends could come over “to party,” according to the sponsor’s account.
“Come on, let’s party,” Lehnardt replied.
The teens drank alcohol and smoked marijuana, Lehnardt said she joined them playing naked Twister, her sponsor told investigators. She then had sex in the bathroom with an 18-year-old boy, and afterward used sex toys in front of the teens before everyone piled into her hot tub, where “the party continued.”
The sponsor said Lenhardt later recounted waking up at 3:30 a.m. to discover her daughter’s 16-year-old boyfriend having sex with her. She said her daughter “felt guilty,” explaining that if she could have accommodated his large penis “he wouldn’t have needed to rape her mother.” Read the rest of this entry »

Interview with Mikheil Saakashvili: Lessons From the Putin Wars
Posted: March 1, 2014 Filed under: Diplomacy, Think Tank, War Room | Tags: Crimea, Georgia, KIEV, Mikheil Saakashvili, Moscow, Putin, RUSSIA, Ukraine, Vladimir Putin 1 CommentGeorgia’s former president, who has seen first-hand the sort of trouble the Kremlin is causing in Ukraine, on what to do about Moscow’s threat
For the Wall Street Journal, Matthew Kaminski writes: Between barricades of tires and impromptu memorials to the victims of Ukraine’s revolution, Mikheil Saakashvili stops to pose for pictures and shake hands. “You showed us how to fight Russia,” says a gray-haired man in a camouflage jacket, embracing him on Institutska Street, a front line in last week’s climactic clashes in the capital.
As the former president of the ex-Soviet nation of Georgia, Mr. Saakashvili certainly knows all about confronting Russia and Vladimir Putin. He also lost a chunk of his country in the process. Now he is here in Ukraine, a country he knows well from his youth, to advise its new leaders on how they can revive the economy as well as keep their nation intact from Russian’s potentially crippling intervention.
Mr. Saakashvili studied law and served in the Soviet military in Kiev, altogether for seven years. He has many friends and knows the major politicians, who seek out his advice.

Real Life Breaking Bad? Banker Pleads Not Guilty to Fraud Charges
Posted: January 8, 2014 Filed under: Crime & Corruption, Law & Justice, Mediasphere | Tags: ABC News, Aubrey Lee Price, Bank fraud, Breaking Bad, Crime, Georgia, Walter White 1 CommentOkay so Aubrey Lee Price isn’t a teacher-turned meth-cooking criminal mastermind bent on building an empire, leaving a trail of dead bodies in his murderous wake, like fictional character Walter White. But he is an example of a white-collar average joe who went dark. No longer content with middle-class aspirations and conventional morality, Price used his professional knowledge for criminal gain, embezzled a fortune, and tried to go off the grid. With millions stolen from investors, Price attempted to screw the system by pretending to be dead.
This meets punditfromanotherplanet’s standard, and serves as a working definition of a real life Breaking Bad scenario. Do you know of any Breaking Bad situations that happened in real life? Send them to editor@punditfromanotherplanet.com
Russ Bynum (AP) reports: A former Georgia banker accused of stealing millions from investors before vanishing for 18 months pleaded not guilty Wednesday to federal bank fraud charges and agreed to remain jailed without bond pending trial.
Aubrey Lee Price, 47, didn’t speak as he sat hunched between his court-appointed lawyer and an attorney who’s a family friend and has agreed to assist with his case for free. Though prosecutors say he misspent, embezzled and lost $21 million, Price was able to show the court that he doesn’t have enough money to hire a lawyer, said U.S. Magistrate Judge G.R. Smith.
Authorities say Price faked financial records in an attempt to cover his tracks before he disappeared in June 2012. He sent letters to his family and acquaintances saying he was “incapable of continuing in this life” and other strong hints that he planned to commit suicide. A Florida judge declared Price dead a year ago. Meanwhile, the Montgomery Bank & Trust, a rural bank near Vidalia at which Price served as a director since 2010, closed because its assets and reserves were depleted.

Mount said she was issued a criminal trespass warning last week by the Richmond County Board of Education police. But when she asked what she did wrong, she received an unexpected response.
