Natalia Veselnitskaya was allowed into the U.S. without a visa by the former administration’s Justice Department; Catherine Herridge has the details for ‘Special Report’.
Charles Krauthammer said that the bureaucratic resistance to Trump is not comparable to a John le Carré spy novel, but rather shows the bitterness of those who didn’t want Trump to win.
“I don’t doubt that the president’s statement was 100 percent sincere and 100 percent knee-jerk. He has no idea what the gun is, how it was obtained, who the person is, and what the person’s motive is.”
“What does he do if it turns out he was a terrorist? We don’t know whether it is or not and to make a pronouncement at this time when – I hate to say it, the bodies are still warm and the wound reasonable doubt now in surgery — I think is at least premature.”
Responding to the outrage surrounding the Hoosier State’s new Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Will noted on Tuesday’s Special Report…
“Tim Cook, CEO of Apple thinks Indiana is a horrible place. He opened marketing and retailing operations in Saudi Arabia two months before a man was sentenced to 450 lashes for being gay. The selective indignation is itself wonderful.”
“There are obviously two important principles at stake here,” Will continued…
“One is, the government should rarely, and only with extreme difficulty, compel people to take actions contrary to their consciences. The other is that when you open your doors to commerce you open them to everybody. That’s a simple thing…You can work this out, but the indignation isn’t helping.”
Sterling Beard writes: The cancellation of health-insurance policies is the first blow to Obamacare after the launch of the glitch-ridden federal health exchange, Charles Krauthammer said Monday night.
“I mean, it’s almost a parody of the definition of a liberal…”
Speaking during a panel appearance on Special Report, Krauthammer criticized the minimum coverage requirements for plans, deriding those rules for causing the cancellations. “You have a plan, you like the plan, you want the plan, but [the government calls] it substandard because some expert in Washington had written a regulation which it doesn’t meet or fit, and we’re going to cancel it on you,” he said.
“…which is: somebody who doesn’t care what you do as long as it’s mandatory.”
