Celebrating one year

YEAR ONE: punditfromanotherplanet celebrates its birthday today

We’ve been scouring news, blogs, and street corners for insights; gossip, debunked rumors, discredited intelligence reports, retracted tweets, broken-sealed court records, thinly-sourced biographical sketches, and discarded matchbook covers for exactly one year. Picking the best, reassembling it, decorating it, and pushing it right back out there. And we’re still here. The first year went by fast!

When we launched on September 16th 2012, we were mostly a political site. We’ve grown to include many other interests, too. Particularly, more news from China, Japan, the Middle East, and global news in general.

For those of you who’ve joined recently, come on in, have a look around. Thanks for the eyeballs! We’ve had a surge in activity in recent months, encouraging us to enlarge the menu and develop more content.

We hope you’re finding all the news you can get everywhere else but not with the hand-selected freshness you get here. Don’t be alarmed if you see the format change hourly, we’re undergoing some redesign, in hopes of making it easier to tolerate navigate.

Welcome new readers! Our first year has been a blast, we look forward to more.

This claim, first made by then-US Ambassador Susan Rice on all Sunday morning shows, has been debunked many times. Here are a few examples:
